Thompson Hotels makes Colorado debut

Thompson Hotels, part of the Hyatt Hotels Corp. portfolio, has made its Colorado debut with the Thompson Denver in the city’s Lower Downtown district. The new-build hotel, owned by hospitality real estate firm T2 Hospitality, includes Chez Maggy, a 90-seat, ground-floor restaurant; Reynard Social, a sixth-floor sunroom bar and lounge; a 1,032-square-foot Thompson Suite; and meetings and events spaces named for three of Denver’s early citizens (Mattie Silks, Kate Fulton and Corteze Thomson).

Location & Design

The hotel’s interior design, developed by Parts + Labor, was inspired by its location, blending the brand’s midcentury-modern style with natural materials like wood, stone and copper. A two-story hearth fireplace extends from the lobby to the residential-style entertainment spaces on the lower level. The walls display artwork from Colorado artists.

The hotel’s guestrooms and suites were designed to look like cabins. The 1,032-square-foot Thompson Suite has a private terrace with seating for eight, a two-sided indoor/outdoor glass fireplace, separate living and dining areas, wide plank hardwood floors, a rainfall shower and a freestanding soaker tub.

Thompson Denver has a private dining space and bar for up to 60 in the mezzanine; a lobby-level café and retail space; meeting and event venues centered around the two-story hearth fireplace; and a 24-hour fitness center.

“Our entry into Denver marks a pivotal moment for the Thompson Hotels brand,” Amanda Parsons, area VP and GM, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with internationally acclaimed chef Ludo Lefebvre to support the opening of Chez Maggy, and offer LoDo’s newest lounge–Reynard Social–a luxurious sixth-floor hideaway with breathtaking views to match. Guests of Thompson Denver can expect refined and curated luxury service alongside thoughtful design, inspired food and drinks, and distinctly Denver programming.”

Thompson Denver also has collaborated with Victrola, the Denver-based turntable manufacturer, to provide “listening experiences” in the guestrooms and suites as well as a communal Victrola Listening Lounge in Reynard Social, featuring the new T1 Turntable, as well as a selection of vinyl specifically curated by Victrola.
