The Wayfinder Waikiki has officially opened in Honolulu as the second Wayfinder property under new owners Dovetail + Co., a developer of hotels, bars, and restaurants led by Phil Hospod. Culinary partner Foodland will oversee all restaurants and bars and the property is managed by Springboard Hospitality.

Wayfinder Waikiki has 228 guestrooms as well as a 70-foot saltwater lagoon pool; Lost + Found, a tropical speakeasy and pool bar; and B-Side, a lite fare lobby coffee bar with a retail element. The on-site restaurant, the second location of Redfish Poke Bar by Foodland, will be open all day.

Honolulu-based design studio, The Vanguard Theory, designed the interiors to embrace the Brutalist architecture of the building’s roots and to create a fresh space with tropical touches. The design celebrates the diversity and multicultural fabric of Hawaii, with touches of native Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Filipino and European details all blended together throughout.

“We’re so excited to be opening our second Wayfinder hotel in the dynamic neighborhood of Waikiki,” Phil Hospod, CEO and founder of Dovetail + Co., said in a statement. “Wayfinder Waikiki has been a project we’ve been carefully curating and crafting with talented local based collaborators since its inception to offer a truly unique, boutique hotel and we can’t wait for the community and visitors to check out what Wayfinder is all about.”
