Accor names new CEO for Raffles, Orient Express

Accor has named Omer Acar the new CEO of Raffles and Orient Express.

His appointment will be effective March 1. Acar will be based in New York and will report directly to Accor CEO Sébastien Bazin on the luxury and lifestyle executive committee, while working closely alongside the other brand CEOs of the division. 

To enhance the Accor’s reach and recognition in the U.S. market, Acar will also assume responsibility for representing the company on the North American market.

Acar started his career at Four Seasons in various operational positions at several hotels in the United States and Egypt. He moved to Harrods in England as group director of food and beverage in 2005, was appointed general manager of the Ritz in Paris in 2006, then moved to Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris in the same capacity in 2011. He joined Katara Hospitality in 2014 as managing director for Europe and the Americas, where he supervised 18 hotels including The Plaza in New York City; the Peninsula in Paris; the Carlton in Cannes, France; the Excelsior in Rome; Grosvenor House and The Savoy in London.
