American Hotel Register Company has been officially certified as a women-owned business from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. WBENC certification validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women. The WBENC world-class certification standard is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations representing America’s most prestigious brands, and American Hotel is now counted among them.

“Actually, we have been majority women-owned for the last few years,” Angela Korompilas, president and CEO of American Hotel Register Company, said in a statement. “We wanted to make it official by partnering with the WBENC knowing the importance of this certification to our customers and suppliers. As a company that has long supported and promoted women in business, it’s an absolute honor to be one of the largest women-owned companies in the country.”

In an effort to diversify their supplier base, hundreds of national corporations are doing more business with women-owned companies, and AHRC's new status may open it up to future opportunities in the hospitality space.
