The Ascend Hotel Collection has added the destination-themed Chateau Avalon in Kansas City, Kan., to its portfolio. The property’s 61 suites draw inspiration from past and present global destinations, including the Serengeti, Camelot, Buckingham Palace and Monte Cristo.

The Chateau Avalon, an Ascend Hotel Collection features an ancient Egypt-themed bar, an onsite spa and wedding and event space. The hotel is located adjacent to the Kansas Speedway, which hosts several NASCAR races every year, and a few miles from downtown Kansas City, Mo., where visitors can explore the River Market District’s shops and scenic parks. Beaumont Enterprises owns the hotel.

The Ascend Hotel Collection currently has more than 260 properties open with another 70 in the pipeline worldwide. This year, it expects to open several hotels in major U.S. markets, including Brooklyn and Long Island City, N.Y.; Philadelphia; and Napa, Calif.
