Crescent Hotels & Resorts will manage a dual-branded hotel development, the AC Hotel by Marriott North Phoenix at Norterra and Element by Westin North Phoenix at Norterra. The project broke ground in May and is expected to open in late 2025. This venture is a collaborative effort between North Texas developer Jackson-Shaw and Tucson-based Holualoa Companies.
"The new dual-branded hotel project in Phoenix's Norterra neighborhood presents a strong opportunity to cater to the area’s growing business demands," Michael George, founder and CEO of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. "The thriving tech corridor is ripe for a hotel that can accommodate a mix of commercial, leisure and group travelers,” “With the AC Hotel and Element by Westin brands and their lifestyle amenities, we are confident that they will deliver a best-in-class hospitality experience.”
The interconnected hotels are adjacent to the Shops at Norterra, an open-air lifestyle shopping center in North Phoenix. The shopping center is less than 15 minutes south of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plant which is currently under construction. TSMC's establishment, along with the presence of major companies such as USAA, Honeywell Aerospace, and W.L. Gore & Associates, has attracted numerous suppliers to the area, thereby fueling the growth of new residential and commercial projects and cementing the region as a flourishing tech corridor.
The four-story development will have a total of 274 guestrooms—179 at the AC Hotel by Marriott North Phoenix at Norterra and 95 extended-stay rooms at the Element by Westin North Phoenix at Norterra.
The development will have 8,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, two suites, two group communal rooms, a fitness center and a resort-style courtyard with a saline pool, heated spa and event lawn. The 160,133-square-foot building takes up three acres.
