Hotel operating and development company First Hospitality has assumed management and operations of the Hyatt Place Champaign/Urbana in Champaign, Ill. First Hospitality will also manage Punch!, a bar and lounge at the hotel.
“Expanding our Hyatt brand footprint with the addition of the Hyatt Place Champaign/Urbana is a meaningful step in our growth strategy to further diversify our branded portfolio,” David Duncan, First Hospitality president and CEO, said in a statement.
The 145-guestroom Hyatt Place Champaign/Urbana is located in downtown Champaign, minutes from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. More than 36 restaurants are within a two-block radius. The pet-friendly hotel has an in-door pool (opening March 31), a fitness center, meeting and event space, a lobby bar and a 24/7 espresso bar.
