The Georgian Hotel joins The Leading Hotels of the World

Following its restoration in spring 2023, The Georgian in Santa Monica has joined The Leading Hotels of the World. The Georgian is LHW’s only property in Santa Monica and its second in the Los Angeles area.

With a nine-decade-long commitment to providing remarkably uncommon travel experiences, Leading Hotels only selects members that meet its high standards for quality and distinctiveness. The result is a curated portfolio of hotels united not by what makes them the same, but the details that make them different.

“We are delighted to welcome a Californian icon, The Georgian, to The Leading Hotels of the World," Deniz Omurgonulsen, VP of member experience, The Leading Hotels of the World, said in a statement. "This recently restored, vibrant and classic hotel on Southern California’s coastline has been a staple of West Coast hospitality for over 90 years, and we are pleased to now have them in our collection. This property will further enhance our presence in North America and place LHW on the map in Santa Monica.”

Perched above the Santa Monica waterfront, The Georgian has been a fixture of the southern California coastline since its debut in 1933. After a historically inspired restoration by hoteliers Jon Blanchard and Nicolo Rusconi of BLVD Hospitality, The Georgian reopened to the public on April 3, 2023.  Under their creative direction, through the eye of leading interior architecture and design firm, Fettle, the hotel reimagines the iconicity of the 30s in a contemporary landscape, placing emphasis on hospitality and culture. Maintaining the original concept’s striking features and presence throughout, complemented by thoughtful design, the property has 84 keys—56 classic rooms and 28 one-bedroom suites—with sweeping ocean views.
