GF Hotels & Resorts promotes leaders of owned, managed divisions

Hotel ownership and management company GF Hotels & Resorts has promoted two leaders to oversee both the owned and managed divisions of the company's portfolio.

John Rubino

John Rubino has been promoted to president, managed division. Rubino will also hold a dual role as the chief operation officer of the same subsector.  

Rubino joined GF Hotels & Resorts in 2019. Over his 35 years in the hospitality industry, Rubino has held various positions, including EVP, SVP of operations, VP of operations, regional director of operations, regional director of training, area manager and general manager.

Since joining GF, Rubino has assisted in adding more than 130 managed properties to the GF portfolio and recruiting more than 15 executives to the team. “John’s leadership style encompasses the genuine spirit of hospitality,” Kenneth Kochenour, CEO & founder of GF Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. “While impressing clients and delivering superior results are critical, employee satisfaction and workplace culture are fundamental. Guided by John’s exceptional leadership, we look forward to the continued success in growth, investment, and strategic planning.” 

Rubino received a bachelor of science in hotel, restaurant and institutional management from Pennsylvania State University’s School of Hospitality Management. 

Vineet Nayyar

At the same time, GH has promoted Vineet Nayyar to president, owned division. 

Nayyar has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and will continue serving as chief operating officer for the owned division as well as in his new position. He joined the company in 2000 and over the last 22 years has served in all areas of hotel management and worked with most major brands, including Marriott International, Hilton, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Radisson.

His industry expertise led to a seat on Holiday Inn’s General Manager Advisory Board, and he currently is a member of the IHG Owners Association and DoubleTree Hotel Owner Advisory Council. He received a degree in hotel management from the Alpina School of Hotel Management, Switzerland.

Since its founding, GF Hotels & Resorts has operated nearly 600 hotels across 46 states. The company currently has more than 140 upscale and midscale U.S. hotels and resorts in its portfolio.
