HEI to manage Renaissance Times Square

HEI Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the 317-room Renaissance Times Square. The hotel was recently acquired by Newbond and Apollo Global Management, who then tapped HEI to manage the property. Renaissance Times Square is located in the middle of Times Square, close to New York City’s Theater District and its attractions.

“We are thrilled as our footprint in New York City continues to grow through this superb asset,” HEI CEO and Managing Partner Anthony Rutledge said in a statement. “Given the quality of the hotel and the property’s unbeatable location, HEI’s extensive management platform and repositioning expertise will further the hotel’s reputation as one of the premier places to stay in New York. We are excited to execute our business plan and take this property into its next chapter.”

Built in 1990 and renovated in 2019, Renaissance Times Square is a New York icon and one of the most photographed properties in the country, according to HEI. This will be HEI's eighth hotel in the New York Metropolitan Area, which includes hotels from all major hotel brands, including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHG, and the fourth hotel in HEI's relationship with Newbond and Apollo Global Management.

The property has 3,500 square feet of meeting space and is positioned in the middle of the “Bowtie” of Times Square, providing a front-row seat to the New Year’s Eve ball drop.
