Two hotel management companies, a REIT and an advisory firm have added to their ranks in recent days. Here are some names to know.

Peachtree

Peachtree Hospitality Management’s director of people and culture, Joe Palmer, has been promoted to VP of risk management. In this newly created role, he will provide the strategic vision for the company's insurance, safety and risk controls. He will also coordinate with other organizational functions to enhance the risk-management culture. Palmer will report to Patrick Short, PHM's president. 

A graduate of the University of South Florida, Palmer has spent 20 years in human resources for the hospitality industry. He held leadership positions with Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort, South Seas Island Resort and the Inns of Sanibel, and Streamsong Resort. Before joining PHM in 2019, Palmer provided corporate support for a portfolio of 77 full-service and select-service properties.

LBA Hospitality

LBA Hospitality, an Alabama-based hotel management company, has hired Scott Reid to be the company's VP of operations support. Reid will oversee the activities and workflow of the corporate director of F&B, the regional engineering team and the task force management team. He also is responsible for the development and implementation of an operations game plan focused on process improvements that will impact brand and owner relations. 

Reid has spent more than 25 years in the hospitality industry, seven of which he spent with LBA as regional director of operations. Other companies include Parks Hospitality Group, Crestline Hotels & Resorts and Hospitality America.

Vici

Vici Properties, an experiential real estate investment trust, has appointed Kellan Florio as the company’s new SVP/chief investment officer and Moira McCloskey as VP of capital markets.

Florio will be responsible for leading Vici’s expansion across experiential real estate investments with operators, reporting to President and COO John Payne. He joins Vici from Goldman Sachs where he spent the last 15 years in the real estate investment banking group. Kellan’s work at Goldman Sachs covered the real estate, gaming and lodging spectrum, and he was most recently served managing director, global head of lodging & leisure investment banking.

McCloskey will be responsible for leading Vici’s capital markets initiatives and continuing to expand Vici’s relationships and access to capital across domestic and international debt and equity markets, reporting to David Kieske, EVP and CFO. McCloskey joins Vici from Bank of America Securities where she was a managing director in the Equity Capital Markets group. McCloskey was also a trader and risk manager for Bank of America Securities' Equity Cash Trading group specializing in the real estate and financial services sectors. Early in her career, she was a trader at UBS AG in the foreign exchange derivatives group. 

HREC

Dan Miller has joined HREC Investment Advisors as SVP based in the Dallas office.

Some of Miller’s more recent roles were chief investment officer for a family office in California and chief investment officer for American Hotel Income Properties where he acquired 72 select-service, extended-stay and suite properties with value in excess of $1 billion. 

Before that, he was VP of capital transactions for FelCor Lodging Trust where he led the disposition of $750 million in non-core assets. Other roles include real estate acquisitions and development positions at Kimpton, Accor, Embassy Suites, and Marriott. He started his career in operations at Hyatt.
