Kansas hotel joins Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand

The Oread Hotel in Lawrence, Kan., has joined the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand, a portfolio of 110 unique hotels worldwide. The 102-room hotel was acquired in 2022 by Mission Hill Hospitality, a select service and extended stay hotel investor. Concord Hospitality, a hotel development and management company, manages the property.

Adjacent to the University of Kansas, The Oread Hotel Lawrence has views of the campus and football stadium, which is a short walk from the property. It has 15,000 square feet of meeting space; a full-service, three-meal restaurant; bar; retail space; two large outdoor terraces and a fitness center.

“We are proud to operate under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand known for distinctive properties. The Oread Hotel Lawrence offers our guests an outstanding experience and unparalleled proximity to the University of Kansas,” GM Tad Stricker said in a statement.

The Oread Hotel has a combination of historic and modern architecture. The guestrooms have a modern, vibrant ambiance with an emphasis on spaciousness. A lobby-level restaurant, the Bird Dog Bar, has locally inspired culinary creations. The Nest on Ninth, a 6,600-square-foot rooftop terrace, has panoramic views of the University of Kansas’ campus and the Kaw River Valley.
