Kirkwood Collection added a fifth property, the 13-room Garden Street Inn in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to its collection of California boutique hotels. The company plans to renovate the mansion-turned-bed-and-breakfast from late 2020 to early 2021, during which time it’ll add three more guestrooms, a boutique restaurant and a wine bar.

“San Luis Obispo is one of the fastest growing destinations in California and offers an amazing wine and farm-to-table culture,” Kirkwood Collection President Alex Kirkwood said in a statement. “With an incredible array of activities and attractions on our doorstep, and Cal Poly nearby, we believe San Luis Obispo to be a marquee market for our collection.”

Kirkwood Collection’s takeover of the Garden Street Inn followed its launch of the Hideaway Santa Barbara (Calif.) this summer. Its portfolio also includes the Blue Sands Inn in Santa Barbara, 97 Lake Shore in Rancho Mirage (Calif.) and The Palm Springs (Calif.) Hotel.
