Spire, Crescent, Prism add to portfolios

Several management companies are taking over operations of new hotels across the country.

Portland, Ore.

Irving, Texas-based Spire Hospitality has assumed management of the Hilton Garden Inn Portland/Lake Oswego in Portland, Ore. Located next to the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 217, one of the busiest intersections in Oregon, the 179-room hotel is within walking distance of Kruse Woods Corporate Park and a 10-minute drive from Downtown Portland.

The Hilton Garden Inn has an indoor pool, a fitness center, pet-friendly rooms and a business center. The property has nearly 1,225 square feet of event space and an on-site restaurant, The Garden Grille & Bar.

The property’s owners—The Roxborough Group, AWH Partners and West Point Partners—plan to renovate the property over the next several years, including upgrades to the lobby and public spaces as well as a new fitness center.

Chicago

Fairfax, Va.-based Crescent Hotels & Resorts is adding The Westin Chicago Lombard to its portfolio. Located in the western suburbs of Chicago, the hotel has a complimentary shuttle service to the nearby Metra station that can bring guests into the city. Both of Chicago’s international airports are within a 25-minute drive from the property.

The 500-room Westin Chicago Lombard has one of the biggest ballrooms in the area among its 40,000 square feet of event space that also includes 10 event and meeting rooms. The hotel also has a restaurant, a fitness center and a pool.

“Crescent has significant operating experience in the Chicago metro area and operates many Westins throughout the US. The Westin Lombard Chicago complements Crescent’s portfolio perfectly,” said Michael George, Crescent's CEO. “As an award-winning Marriott and Westin manager, Crescent will no doubt have a positive impact on the future performance of the Westin Lombard Chicago.”

Orlando

Dallas-based Prism Hotels & Resorts has added the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort in Florida to its portfolio following L+R Hotels’ acquisition of the property. The 486-room hotel is a mile from Walt Disney World and includes four restaurants, two bars, a full-service spa, two outdoor pools with a poolside bar and a 24-hour fitness center. The resort also has nine event rooms and a total of 31,196 square feet in meeting and event space.

“Welcoming the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort to our family of properties is a pivotal moment for us as we’ve had a great track record with resort and destination properties,” said Steve Van, Prism's president and CEO. “Even during this time of industry crisis, we are continuing to expand our portfolio, and more importantly, we’re delivering results for our owners.”
