Alabama Holiday Inn Express changes hands

Wealth Hospitality Group has sold the the newly constructed Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Huntsville, Ala., to MH Hospitality for $13.95 million, or $142,346 per room. The 98-room hotel covers 56,963-square-feet on 2.68 acres.

This listing was marketed for 30 days. Hilco Real Estate oversaw the sale.

The hotel includes two elevators, a 1,200-square-foot meeting area, an outdoor pool and a fitness center.

"This sale represents an outstanding turnkey opportunity in a city near major interstates, colleges and local attraction," said Keith Worsham, SVP of Hilco Real Estate's national hotels team, in a statement.

Huntsville has become the largest city in the state with a population of approximately 215,006. The hotel will be one mile from the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville Botanical Garden, Redstone Arsenal Army Post, Cummings Research Park (the second largest research park in the United States) and the University of Alabama – Huntsville. The property will be 10 miles from the Huntsville International Airport.
