The Global Ambassador has partnered with Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection, a portfolio of exceptional properties in remarkable destinations. The hotel is now part of the collection alongside Baccarat Hotel New York, Montage Laguna Beach and Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, among others.
The singular properties within this collection have exquisite accommodations, stellar and intuitive personal service, renowned dining and exceptional spas, setting the stage for unforgettable experiences, according to Preferred Hotel & Resorts.
The Phoenix hotel is restauranteur Sam Fox’s first foray into the hotel space. The Global Ambassador is 10 years in the making and, after Fox’s 25 years in the restaurant business and over 140 concepts, he plans to own, operate and manage the property.

Every detail of The Global Ambassador is being designed by Fox himself, in collaboration with Judith Testani from Testani Design Troupe, who has also lent her design talents over the years to many of his restaurants, office and even his family home. Inspired by Fox’s travels, they embarked on a deeply personal design journey that resonates throughout the high-style, high-design hotel.
The 141 guestrooms at The Global Ambassador are residential in nature. From the oak hardwood flooring, fabric wallcoverings, custom walnut millwork, Waterworks bathroom fixtures and minibar, every detail is designed to deliver something truly remarkable, according to Fox. Guests will start or end their day from their private Juliet Balcony overlooking Camelback Mountain and the Arizona landscape.
To grace the guestroom walls, Fox worked with his friend and Arizona-based artist Michael Carson, whose work he has been personally collecting for 15 years, to create original pieces. Fox also has partnered with Kelly Croteau of Maison Plage, who is styling an exclusive assemblage of distinctive books throughout the property. Known for curating libraries for private residences, these carefully selected volumes encompass realms of style, design, photography, art and fashion. Similarly, the brothers at Billykirk are outfitting each room with handmade leather accents.
