Waramaug acquires Radisson Hotel Lansing in Michigan

Waramaug Hospitality, a privately held investment firm focused on premium-branded select-service and full-service hotels, has acquired the Radisson Hotel Lansing at the Capitol in Lansing, Mich. Waramaug bought the property from Block 100 Limited Partnership.

The 256-room property is the only full-service hotel in downtown Lansing. It has an oversized lobby, onsite restaurant and bar, fitness center, two-story indoor pool, and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and function space.

The second floor of the Radisson Hotel Lansing connects to the Lansing Center, the city-owned 125,000-square-foot convention center.

“The Radisson fits well into our investment criteria,” Waramaug Hospitality SVP Craig Nussbaum said in a statement. “We are planning a comprehensive renovation of the property and conversion to a new brand, along with new management, which will ensure the hotel is the best in class in the Lansing market.”

The property is one block from the Michigan State Capitol building and close to Accident Fund Insurance, Sparrow Hospital, General Motors, Peckham Inc., and Auto Owners Insurance. Michigan State University is four miles away.

Waramaug will re-launch the property as a Doubletree by Hilton upon completion. Terrapin Hospitality will manage the asset. Nate Sahn, EVP of CBRE, brokered the transaction.
