Florida resort begins update of public spaces

The Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Manalapan, Fla., launched a multimillion-dollar upgrade of its social spaces. The resort will get several new food-and-beverage outposts, a reinvented pool experience and an updated kid’s club.

The hotel's team has tapped interior design firm Bilkey Llinas Design to conceptualize the hotel's updated vision, which is meant to pay homage to vintage Palm Beach. To minimize disruption to guests, individual projects will be unveiled throughout the remainder of the year. Construction is already underway and the project is timed for completion in late 2021.

New Pool Area

Inspired by the Riviera, Eau Palm Beach’s two pools and surrounding landscape will be completely updated to create a new cultural focal point at the resort. New lounge furniture and additional new seating areas along the sea wall will use neutral colors and organic materials to fit in with the natural surroundings. A garden palette, which will be created by landscaping design firm EDSA, will feature palms, seagrass, palmettos and tropical florals.

The adults-only Tranquility Pool on the south side of the resort will add a seated bar where cold-pressed juices, cocktails and an all-day menu will be served. The venue will double as an auxiliary venue for weddings and special events. The space will also get new cabanas and daybeds.

Mirroring the Tranquility Pool, the reimagined family pool on the resort’s north side will have four cabanas and a new splash pad with a turtle theme.

A new deck facade will be reconfigured near the existing lawn to serve as a more flexible event space. A new outdoor wedding space will also be added on the north side of the resort, overlooking the ocean and hosting up to 100 guests.

New Kid’s Club

A new kids club will replace the former AquaNuts Kids Club. The reimagined area will host crafting and culinary activities in a space depicting underwater images and a wall mural, an arcade with a variety of games and machines and direct access to the family pool splash pad. The club’s virtual playground also will have a Lite Zilla interactive wall, an interactive laser overhead projector and a ‘sketch aquarium,’ in which kids can demonstrate their creativity, play and even feed turtles and fish that are uploaded to a life-size aquarium. A cinema with tiered seating shaped like sand dunes and a theater stage will host movie nights and performances.

New Dining Options

The property will get six reimagined culinary outlets, four of which are entirely new concepts: a coffee shop, an ice cream parlor, a spa cafe and a sushi bar. The outlets will be unveiled in segments and will be introduced in late 2021.
