Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton completes renovation

Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton, has finished a multi-million-dollar property renovation encompassing 110 guestrooms and suites and 1,600 square feet of meetings and events space. The revitalization introduces a sophisticated, modern beach-inspired aesthetic to the property, as well as an all-new penthouse-level restaurant concept, Sea & Sky. Hotel La Jolla is owned by Kawa Capital Management and CL Hotels and operated by Aimbridge Hospitality.

The new look and feel of the property, imagined by hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates, draws inspiration from the layers of texture, organic shapes and color palette that mimics the property’s sun-kissed coastal location. The redesign of the spaces offers a stunning nod to the surrounding landscape, including the use of neutral flooring and muted blue furnishings celebrating the sand and sea, and artwork reflecting the area's culture, scenery and rich past.

Guestroom upgrades include new textiles and wallcoverings, high-end furnishings, the installation of oversized work desks, modern dressers, 55-inch televisions, upgraded bathrooms, and new, modern outdoor furniture for enjoying the ocean views afforded by every one of the property’s west-facing guestrooms and suites. The property’s new 850-square-foot king ocean view suites feature separate living areas, wet bar, work-from-anywhere friendly desk, sofa bed, walk-in shower, and an additional half bathroom for additional convenience.

Thanks to newly revamped meetings space and an enviable location in San Diego’s centrally located coastal enclave, Hotel La Jolla will continue to attract a healthy mix of corporate and business clientele. The property’s 1,600 square feet of space, including a large divisible room with seating for up to 80 and floor-to-ceiling views of the adjacent Pacific Ocean, has been completely reimagined with new flooring, wallcoverings, paint, and updated lighting to complement the same soothing aesthetic played through each of the guestrooms and suites.

The highlight of the full-scale renovation is the debut of Sea & Sky, a sea-to-table restaurant occupying the hotel’s top floor. The brighter, more modern space showcases the expansive sea views which have become the location’s hallmark, but with a contemporary color palette and an updated design, enclosed show kitchen and expanded bar. In addition to an elegant main dining room outfitted with cozy banquettes and intimate window-side tables for two, Sea & Sky features a private dining area with seating for 16, providing an additional option for business dinners and smaller receptions.

Executive chef Anthony Wells was tapped to oversee all food and beverage operations for the hotel, including menu development and day-to-day operation of Sea & Sky. Wells has developed a menu showcasing the freshest, locally caught seafood and regional ingredients with the same creative.
