J/Brice International to redesign Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras

Saudi Arabia’s Fakieh Group commissioned Boston-based studio J/Brice Design International to renovate the Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras on the Jeddah Corniche in Saudi Arabia. J/Brice Design will recast and rebrand the property as a seven-star resort when it opens in the second quarter of 2017.

According to Jeffrey Ornstein, CEO and founder of J/Brice Design, the renovation project will include the reinvention and redesign all of Mövenpick’s public spaces, guestrooms and suites, as well as the resort hotel’s indoor-outdoor Al Wadaa restaurant, which draws its name from the Arabic word for “shell”restaurant.

The resort’s main building embodies the geometry of a conch shell with a design based on a concentric circular theme. The Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras is located on a private island of reclaimed land off North Corniche Road. Overlooking the Red Sea, the property is near the Tahlia shopping district, city center and King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

Other J/Brice projects in Saudi Arabia include the first Vienna-based Kempinski Hotel in Al Khobar, KSA and the Dusit Hotel, also in Jeddah.
