New York firm oversees Waldorf Astoria Atlanta renovation

The Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead is undergoing a renovation project overseen by New York-based design firm BHDM. The update will include a new French brasserie restaurant concept, a redesign of its lobby-level social spaces and an upgrade to the spa. All 127 guestrooms will get a new refresh, the Presidential Suite will get a new design and the suites will get a residential-style update. The team expects the project to wrap up in the spring.

“We look forward to unveiling our property transformation which further delivers on our commitment to offering guests an unforgettable stay,” said Stephane Mercier, general manager of the hotel. “The Buckhead neighborhood is an area filled with coveted high-end shopping and attractions and Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead will be a welcome respite for travelers and locals alike, with intriguing culinary and world-class wellness offerings.”

F&B

Set to debut first is Brassica, a Southern interpretation of a French brasserie, on the lobby level. BHDM's design for the space uses woods and warm colors inspired by both the destination and hotel’s “city within a forest” concept.

The hotel also will launch the Peacock Alley lounge, which pays homage to the historic gathering space at the flagship Waldorf Astoria New York. The Solarium will host private dining or the hotel’s signature afternoon tea service.

Guest Accommodations

Following the restaurant’s debut, Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead will update its accommodations. All guestrooms will get new designs incorporating neutral tones, updated furnishings and linens in partnership with Frette. The hotel will also introduce two new one-bedroom Astoria Suites with dedicated kitchenettes. These suites can connect to neighboring rooms.

The redesigned Presidential Suite is set to get a new kitchen and living spaces. The 2,340-square-foot space will have two private terraces, a living room, a dining room, a fireplace and a master bedroom and bathroom. The suite can be connected with an adjoining room to make it a larger two-bedroom suite.
