Sandals Resorts International has detailed the implementation of a $200 million renovation program spanning Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Caribbean Cay and Sandals South Coast in Jamaica.
The investment includes new accommodations, dining venues and guest amenities across the three properties. The project also includes the rebranding of Sandals Royal Caribbean as Sandals Caribbean Cay.
“Jamaica is at the heart of the Sandals story, and these investments reflect our commitment to its future,” Adam Stewart, executive chairman of Sandals Resorts, said in a statement. “For us, dreaming bigger wasn’t about adding more. It was about creating a Sandals 2.0 experience that also feels connected to our home.”
Sandals Montego Bay, the company's flagship resort, is scheduled to reopen Dec. 18, 2026, following renovations to its 255-room property. Updates include a redesigned arrival experience, a new main pool, additional swim-up accommodations and ocean-view suites.
New food-and-beverage offerings will include Buccan, making its Jamaica waterfront debut, and Scrimshaw, a seafood restaurant overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The resort will also retain its swim-up bar as part of Parisol Beach Club. A new Bay Roc Rum Club will reference the property's history as Bay Roc Hotel & Villas and feature Caribbean-inspired décor, memorabilia and rum-focused offerings.
Also reopening Dec. 18, 2026, Sandals Caribbean Cay will introduce a new identity for the former Sandals Royal Caribbean. The resort's redesign includes an open-air lobby overlooking the pool and Caribbean Sea.
The property is adding 84 rooms, increasing its inventory to 291 accommodations. New room categories will include SkyPool Suites, Swim-up Suites and Oceanview Butler Suites, which are scheduled to open in June 2027.
Sandals South Coast is scheduled to reopen Nov. 18 following enhancements to the 380-room resort. Located within a 500-acre nature preserve, the property will receive updates to its pool areas, lobby and public spaces, with design elements inspired by the surrounding landscape and resident peacocks.
The resort's Overwater Butler Villas have been refreshed, and Sandals is introducing its first Beachfront Club Two Queen Junior Suites.
