Wyoming motel doubles footprint with renovation

The Mountain Modern motel in Jackson, Wyo., has completed a propertywide transformation and expansion that doubled its footprint to cover a full city block. The property has 59 new guestrooms and suites including two-story, residential-style townhomes; an outdoor pool and a Jacuzzi; a social hub; and 19,000 square feet of new indoor-outdoor space, co-working and lounge areas.

Designed by TruexCullins, Mountain Modern has contemporary, destination-inspired furnishings. Custom wall coverings celebrate Grand Teton backcountry and destination highlights including the local wildlife and Jackson’s fly-fishing, complemented with pops of red buffalo plaid.

Mountain Modern’s 59 new guestrooms bring its total room count to 194. The new accommodations include king rooms, studios with full kitchens, king and double-queen suites. The property also has opened six new two-bedroom, two-story residential-style townhomes that sleep up to eight people and include a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, separate bedrooms and a private outdoor balcony.

All guestrooms include practical features like custom gear walls serving as utilitarian decor and providing storage for hiking boots, backpacks, skis and snowboards.

The expansion also added a new community social hub called “The Triple M,” which will serve as a year-round basecamp for guests. The Triple M will be a modern coworking space during the day and a communal lounge area at night.
