SHR’s Windsurfer CRS now integrates with Adyen

Tech services provider SHR has integrated its Windsurfer CRS with global financial technology platform Adyen. The full API integration allows travelers to pay for their hotel reservation using more available payment options, including Google Pay and Klarna, a buy-now-pay-later provider. A key component to the partnership is helping European hoteliers ensure their transactional data is secure and compliant with the European Union's Second Payment Services Directive.

“Integrating with Adyen is a game changer for SHR because hotels that utilize Windsurfer can now offer visitors to their booking engine the ability to reserve their hotel room now and pay in monthly installments,” SHR Integrations Manager Stephen Day said in a statement. “Leisure travel is the name of the game today, and large families booking week-long vacations want the option to pay in increments.”

Adyen lets hotels use a single payment provider for the entire process. Hotels receive detailed guest information at time of booking, so if there’s a no-show, the hotel is still able to charge the traveler’s credit card.

“Travelers today are demanding more payment options and SHR’s integration with Adyen ensures Windsurfer partners are offering the most safe, secure and efficient transactions process on the market today,” said Mark Rademaker, Adyen’s global head of hospitality. “Adyen helps manage fraud, expand business, uncover growth and connect people on and off the internet.”

One hotel partner using solutions from both SHR and Adyen is Elite Hotels of Sweden, which has renewed its focus on improving its guests’ digital experience. “As a company, Elite Hotels is taking the next steps in our digital transformation,” said Ronny Röe, CEO at Elite Hotels. “We are modernizing nearly all elements of the guest journey, and that includes having the most widely accepted payment options for our guests.”
