Hotel management and development company DelMonte Hotel Group and Rockbridge acquired the Courtyard Providence (R.I.) Downtown. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Hunter Hotel Advisors SVP Spencer Davidson represented the institutional seller.
Centrally located in downtown Providence, the 219-key Courtyard by Marriott property is close to Brown University, Johnson and Wales University, College Hill, PPAC and Amica Mutual Pavilion.
“We are thrilled to grow our partnership with Rockbridge with the acquisition of the Courtyard Providence Downtown. We have exciting plans for the hotel, which includes a top to bottom renovation of the asset,” Alexander DelMonte, CEO and president of the DelMonte Hotel Group, said in a statement. “With over 50 years of hospitality experience, DHG has a proven track record, and we look forward to continuing our expansion into new markets.”
DelMonte Hotel Group currently owns and operates across a multibrand platform including Marriott and Hilton via a portfolio of properties throughout New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. The acquisition of Courtyard Providence Downtown marks the group’s first venture into Rhode Island as they continue to expand throughout the country.
According to DelMonte, the team plans to refresh the property in the coming years.
