Kolter Hospitality buys two Hyatt hotels

Kolter Hospitality has acquired the Hyatt House Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Airport & Cruise Port and Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port in Dania Beach from Blackstone. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal brings a total of 292 rooms to Kolter Hospitality’s portfolio. In a statement, Kolter Hospitality President Scott Webb said the company is in “growth mode” and “constantly looking for thoughtful acquisitions” to grow its portfolio.

“Hyatt is a globally respected brand that Kolter Hospitality has a very long and successful relationship with," Webb continued. The transaction marks Kolter Hospitality’s 10th hotel collaboration with Hyatt. In Florida alone, Kolter has Hyatt Place properties in Delray Beach, Boca Raton, St. Petersburg, Coconut Point and West Palm Beach. Other hotels include Hyatt Centric Las Olas Fort Lauderdale and Hyatt Regency Sarasota.

“The hotels are well positioned to appeal to both the leisure and business traveler, with their close proximity to the airport, cruise port and location at Dania Pointe, a vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment district,” added Sara Martinez, vice president of sales and marketing.
