KWC Management acquires Montage Kapalua Bay

KWC Management, the hospitality investment management company of Kemmons Wilson Companies, has acquired the Montage Kapalua Bay, following an engagement that began in the early spring. Other terms were not disclosed. Montage Kapalua Bay has consistently been ranked among the top resorts on Maui and throughout the state of Hawaii, according to the company.

“Since first visiting Hawaii in the early 1980s, we have held a profound respect for the islands, their culture and people, and we have grown only more intrigued through the process of making Montage Kapalua Bay part of our portfolio,”  KWC Management CEO Webb Wilson said in a statement. “In light of the current tragedy, we grieve for the people of Maui. We intend to find ways to be involved in caring for the displaced residents and community of West Maui. Under our ownership, the resort will continue to offer programming that enlightens guests on Hawaiian cultural practices and history and benefits their personal wellness and renewal.”

Located along Namalu Bay, Montage Kapalua Bay has 24 acres of oceanfront on the northwest corner of Maui. The cliffside resort has 146 residential-style, multi-bedroom suites, an immersive cultural program, four restaurants, Montage’s signature children’s program—Paintbox—and a spa, as well as a collection of privately owned residences.

KWC Management will bring on White Label Asset Management to assist in asset managing the property.
