Mumford Co. arranges sale of Virginia Fairfield

Front Royal Pike sold the 85-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Winchester (Va.) to Aspire Hospitality. The purchase marks the Maryland-based hotel owner and operator’s seventh acquisition and the first Marriott-branded property in its portfolio.

Ed James and Steve Kirby, managing principals of Mumford Co., represented Front Royal Pike in the sale. The regional builder and real estate developer owns multiple hotels and other commercial real estate holdings in the northern Shenandoah Valley.

“This was our second transaction in as many years with the seller, allowing them to continue a disposition strategy to right-size their portfolio in today’s market,” James said in a statement.

The Fairfield Inn is located off Interstate 81 within a short drive of Shenandoah University, the corporate headquarters of American Woodmark, the Winchester Regional Airport and facilities for HP Hood, Kraft Foods and Kohl’s. The hotel features a meeting room, fitness center and indoor pool.

The principals of Aspire Hospitality own 460 guestrooms across seven hotels. The principals of Front Royal Pike own 673 rooms, also across seven hotels.
