The Marlin Hotel, a 33-room boutique property in Miami Beach, has been sold. The hotel was represented on both the buyer and seller sides by Amiti Bhow of NewGen Advisory. The buyer, seller and other terms were not disclosed.
Originally built in 1939 and designed by architect L. Murray Dixon, The Marlin is a notable example of the Art Deco style that helped define the character of Miami Beach. Beyond its architecture, the hotel built a reputation in the 1990s and early 2000s as a hub for musicians and creatives. Its on-site recording studio hosted artists including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Aerosmith and Mariah Carey, among others. The Marlin has 33 guestrooms.
"It was an honor to represent both the seller and buyer in the successful sale of The Marlin Hotel," Bhow said in a statement. "This transaction brings together an iconic South Beach asset with an experienced ownership group that recognizes its unique potential. The Marlin's combination of an irreplaceable location, rich cultural history, pristine physical condition, independent positioning, and meaningful operational upside makes it one of the most compelling boutique hotel opportunities in Miami Beach. I have no doubt the new ownership will unlock the property's next chapter while preserving the legacy that has made it a true South Beach landmark."
