Portuguese hotel company Pestana Hotel Group has grown its footprint in the U.S. with the addition of Pestana Orlando Suites – Lake Buena Vista in Orlando. Terms were not disclosed. The company previously operated three hotels in the U.S.—two in New York and one in Miami. Pestana Orlando Suites – Lake Buena Vista will represent the 109th hotel in the group’s chain. With the acquisition, the Pestana Hotel Group increasing the group’s total number of rooms in the North American market to 500.
José Roquette, chief development officer of Pestana Hotel Group, emphasized that “the opening of the Pestana Orlando Suites is another significant step in our geographic diversification strategy. The North American market continues to be a strategic pillar for Pestana Hotel Group and this new acquisition is a vivid reflection of our asset right strategy, which focuses on maintaining ownership of assets in the markets with the greatest recognized potential.”

Located 15 minutes from the main theme parks of Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World, as well as the Orlando Convention Center, the new Pestana Orlando Suites – Lake Buena Vista has 127 suites. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, garden, outdoor pool, gym, business center and parking.
The Pestana Hotel Group, the largest multinational hotel group of Portuguese origin with a presence in 16 countries, began its expansion in the United States in 2013 with the opening of its first hotel in Miami, the Pestana Miami South Beach, an art deco boutique hotel. The group’s growth strategy in the North American market continued with the opening of two new hotels in New York. In 2020, the group opened the Pestana Park Avenue. The following year, in 2021, the group opened the Pestana CR7 Times Square Hotel—the first of its partnership with the famous soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo in the U.S.
