Waramaug Hospitality buys Autograph Collection hotel in Florida

Waramaug Hospitality bought the Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection in Orlando. The previous owner, Hotel 8269 International, originally acquired the hotel in June 2017 for $23.6 million from Orlando Investments Holding, according to the Orange County Property Appraiser’s website.

“Castle Hotel is uniquely situated across the street from Universal Orlando Resort’s future theme park, Epic Universe, and within walking distance of other major attractions and amenities,” Craig Nussbaum, SVP with Waramaug, said in a statement. “We are planning a comprehensive renovation of the property, including the introduction of a new restaurant, which will provide our guests with a fresh new boutique hotel experience.”

The 214-room Castle Hotel offers 8,400 square feet of meeting space comprising seven rooms, terraces and gardens. Other features include an outdoor swimming pool, upscale dining, a business center, a fitness center and two terraces overlooking Orlando’s theme park fireworks shows. The property will continue to be managed by Schulte Hospitality Group.
