Tihany Design names studio director

Dima Abulhusn has been named studio director at Tihany Design. She was previously with the firm as a project manager until 2009.

Abulhusn was born in Beirut and earned her B.S. in interior design from the Lebanese American University. She began her professional career as a designer with Pierre Yves Rochon in Beirut and went on to pursue a master's degree in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, becoming a member of the RISD Advisory Design Committee, a graduate liaison, and later acquiring a Sheridan Teaching Certificate from Brown University.

She first joined Tihany Design in 2006 and worked on concept design to construction adaptations alongside hoteliers and Michelin-starred chefs.

In 2011, Abulhusn moved back to Beirut where she established a design practice and opened her own restaurant. During that period, she began a venture with Unitec Consultants to design, consult and manage hotel projects in the Middle East, co-creating concepts for hotel brands like Marriott International’s Renaissance hotel in Doha, Qatar, and collaborating with the Oberoi family in India.
