First look at the upcoming Forth Atlanta hotel

Atlanta-based New City Properties and Philadelphia-based hospitality firm Method Co. are set to open the Forth Atlanta in June. The $150 million, 16-floor development will include a 196-room hotel with 39 apartment-style rooms for extended stays. The property also will have four food and beverage concepts, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a members-only social club.

Forth Atlanta will be the centerpiece of a mixed-use developments on the Atlanta BeltLine. Method will operate the property.

In 2018, New City Properties acquired 11 acres of property in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood between the Historic Fourth Ward Park and the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. New City started construction on three separate buildings, including Forth Atlanta, in July 2020. More information on New City’s projects within the Old Fourth Ward can be found on the company’s website here.

Interiors and Exteriors

Morris Adjmi Architects, Forth Atlanta’s architect and interior designer, worked collaboratively with New City and Method to create the property’s look. The building has a cast-in-place diagrid façade and tailored interiors that provide counterpoint to the modern concrete exterior.

The look of the common spaces and guestrooms were inspired by contemporary European design and early Americana traditions. Elements include handmade wooden furniture, layered fabrics and textures, vintage pieces and curated objects. The property will have 39 apartment-style hotel accommodations with full-size appliances, separate living spaces, plain sawn oak flooring and custom furniture for extended-stay guests.

Forth Atlanta’s food and beverage concepts were designed by Philadelphia-based Stokes Architecture + Design, in collaboration with Method Studios, and include a lobby cafe and bar, rooftop cocktail lounge, a full-service Italian steakhouse and a Mediterranean-inspired poolside restaurant and bar. The food and beverage program at each concept will be developed and overseen by Method.

The hotel’s event space can accommodate up to 350 people seated. Other venues include a co-working space and a members-only social club that includes a fitness and wellness center with programming and classes as well as a spa facility. The project also features a 2,300-square foot outdoor pool deck offering lounge seating and cabanas available to both club members and hotel guests.
