Marriott Renaissance Hotel coming to N.C.'s Hub RTP

The Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, stewards of Research Triangle Park (RTP), released the official hotel plans for its downtown destination, Hub RTP. An affiliate of real estate investment firm NexPoint Advisors, LP, recently completed the purchase of a site in the Hub RTP development, working with Dallas-based developer Alamo Manhattan to deliver a Marriott-branded Renaissance Hotel to the project.

The 250-room, full-service hotel is poised to become a cornerstone of activity for Research Triangle Park and the growing Triangle area. Renaissance RTP will also have more than 13,000 square feet of meeting space to accommodate a variety of gatherings. Located at 4175 Sancar Way off Davis Drive, hotel construction is slated to begin summer 2024.

"Finding the right hotel development partner is a crucial step toward shaping Hub RTP as a true downtown destination for the Park," Scott Levitan, president and CEO, Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, said in a statement. "After an extensive search and careful consideration, we are pleased to partner with NexPoint and Alamo Manhattan, who share our vision of creating a best-in-class lodging destination inspired by the trajectory of our evolving market.”

Alamo Manhattan is working closely with its designers to draw inspiration from the natural beauty of North Carolina. Renaissance RTP amenities will include a resort-style pool with patio seating, a coffee bar, a high-tech fitness center, and an outdoor patio with direct access to more than 20 miles of adjoining nature trails throughout RTP.

A full-service restaurant and bar at the lobby level of the property will seamlessly connect to Horseshoe at Hub RTP, the central gathering place featuring a trio of buildings offering office, restaurant and retail space wrapped around an outdoor courtyard. Horseshoe is actively leasing tenants while construction is underway, with plans to open fall 2024.

At full build out, Hub RTP will be a 100-acre destination featuring up to one million square feet of office and lab space, 250 hotel rooms, 1,200 residential units, and 50K square feet of restaurants and retail.
