Phoenix American appoints VP acquisitions, asset management

The Dallas-based hotel owner Phoenix American Hospitality named Jan Kuehnemann VP of acquisitions and asset management. In his new role, he will help identify, evaluate and recommend merger and acquisition candidates, establish strategies and maximize return on investment.

Kuehnemann has more than 15 years of experience in hotel investment, strategic planning, asset management and operations. He spent more than 14 of those years at FelCor Lodging Trust, where he started out as a financial analyst and move up to VP of its Capital Transaction Group. There, he was responsible for the company’s acquisitions and dispositions efforts and closed on more than $2 billion in hotel transactions and negotiated management agreements.

He stayed in that position for half a year following FelCor’s merger with RLJ Lodging Trust, helping with the group’s transition process. In May 2018, he founded and began working as a managing member of Kuehnemann Business Advisor.

“We are excited to bring Jan’s unparalleled expertise and insight to the Phoenix American team,” Perch Nelson, president/CEO of Phoenix American Hospitality, said in a statement. “His strategic mind and proven track record of success will be a huge asset to our company.”

Phoenix American owns 17 hotels, all managed by PAH Management.
