Konstantin Grcic has launched the 2018 Brut collection for Magis.
Designed to celebrate an unexpected material, cast iron, the collection includes two benches, an armchair and two sofas inspired by the industrial applications of the alloy, which is used for structural support in bridges and as a pedestal for heavy machinery.
The pieces’ cast-iron structure is combined with contrasting materials, such as natural wood bench seats and soft fabric upholstery. Conceived for public spaces such as lobbies, waiting rooms and offices, the Brut collection is available in a range of fabrics and colors. This is in addition to tables of various shapes and sizes, including one with a height-adjustable trestle structure, which was launched in 2017.
