NewcrestImage, The Plasencia Group and Innisfree Hotels have appointed new leaders in their investor relations and development departments.
NewcrestImage appointed Manuel F. Ortiz to the newly created position of VP, investor relations. The news comes seven and a half months after the company revealed plans to increase its portfolio value by $2 billion. According to chairman/CEO Mehul Patel, the company has committed to raising $250 million in equity and is now actively adding personnel and creating infrastructure to strengthen and broaden its relationships with stakeholders. Ortiz brings almost 20 years of finance experience to his new role. Most recently he served as director, investor relations with Civitas Capital Group for more than seven years. NewcrestImage has a portfolio of 32 owned and operated hotels with another 18 in construction or development.
Plasencia named Douglas Mills senior managing director of its development management consulting team. Drawing on more than 30 years of design and construction experience, Mills will oversee the lodging investment advisory firm’s project management operations. Previously, Mills served as president of Schulte Design + Construction, where he managed a team of project managers and support staff, completing more than 100 renovations and capital improvement projects from late 2015 to early 2020.
Innisfree made two promotions in its development department, raising Rich Chism to VP of development and asset management and Kevin Warwick to director of construction. Chism, who has worked at Innisfree for 12 years, will continue to oversee the activities of the company’s development department. Additionally, he will also now supervise the director of construction—Warwick—assist with new development and acquisition activities, oversee various real estate matters and act as president of HNL Construction, the company’s wholly owned construction company. Innisfree owns or manages 3,470 guestrooms.
