Design Continuum designs Hotel Bennett, eyes January 2019 opening

In Charleston, S.C., the Hotel Bennett is scheduled to open in January 2019, with a classic look from Atlanta-based Design Continuum.

Located at the corner of the city’s King Street and near historic Marion Square, the 179-room property's design was inspired by grand European hotels.

The property will have a restaurant with two stories and outdoor dining terraces overlooking the square.

Hotel Bennett will also have a concierge club, luxury spa, bar and a patisserie, while the rooftop will have a pool and bar experience with panoramic views of Charleston.

For events, the property will have over 12,000 square feet of spaces, including the 6,600 square foot Grand Ballroom that will have 30-foot ceiling and expansive arched windows.

The hotel is named for the Charleston-based Bennett family, and is owned by local hotelier Michael Bennett and his company Bennett Hospitality. The property is managed in partnership with Salamander Hotels & Resorts, the luxury hotel company founded by Sheila Johnson.

Founded in 1983, Bennett Hospitality is a locally-owned company in Charleston, S.C. The company owns 18 hotels, eight restaurants and a catering company in four states.
