First Equinox hotel to open at 35 Hudson Yards in June

Luxury gym Equinox will open this June its Hudson Yards, New York hotel, the company’s first foray into lodging.

When it opens, the hotel will take up floors 24 through 38 of 35 Hudson Yards, a 1,000-foot-tall tower designed by David Childs and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). Interior spaces are by David Rockwell/Rockwell Group and exterior spaces by Ken Smith Workshop and Rockwell Group.

The hotel will have 212 rooms (including 48 suites) with soundproofed walls and blackout shades. The beds to be used will be CocoMat all-natural fiber mattresses that adapt to any shape and form, and will utilize a Scandinavian technique of two separate duvets that enable temperature regulation (set to 66 degrees).

There will also be a Joyce Wang-designed 60,000-square foot Equinox Fitness Club and Spa (with a 25-yard indoor salt water pool, hot and cold plunge pools, outdoor leisure pool and terrace), as well as E by Equinox.

Hotel guests who become Equinox Fitness Clubs members have access to signature group fitness classes, private pilates, personal training services, a spa, 25-yard indoor salt water pool, hot and cold plunge pools, outdoor leisure pool and terrace (with food from restaurateur Stephen Starr) as well as a SoulCycle on the ground floor for the duration of their stay.

For dining, the property will have Stephen Starr's restaurant (with an 8,000-square-foot outdoor terrace with views over Manhattan and the Hudson River) as well as in-room dining designed in collaboration with the experts on Equinox's Health Advisory Board
