SB Architects, Simeone Deary, Bob Martin partner for tallest building in Fort Lauderdale

Kolter Hospitality, a division of The Kolter Group, is set to open a new Hyatt Centric hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The project is slated for completion in 2020.

The hotel will occupy the first 15 floors of a 46-story new-build structure that is expected to become the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale at 499 feet, and clad in glass courtesy of Miami-based SB Architects. Upon completion, the structure will have a curved, geometric form.

Inside, the hotel will have 238 guestrooms, a lobby-level restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Starting on the 16th story, the building will also have 121 condominium residences as well as an additional 8,500 square feet of retail and dining space with outdoor seating on the first floor.

The design of the structure will be inspired by three elements: marine culture, lifestyle and geography.

The design team also includes Chicago-based design practice Simeone Deary Design Group, as well as Palm Beach, Florida-based designer Bob Martin of Decorators Unlimited. Carrie Tolman of Simeone Deary Design will oversee the interiors of the residential common areas, while Martin will spearhead the residences.
