Two firms combine for Minor Hotel Group expansion in UAE

Minor Hotel Group is scheduled to add two new properties in the United Arab Emirates. Anantara Jebel Dhanna and Avani Jebel Dhanna in Abu Dhabi are scheduled to open in 2018.

Dhabi Contracting and Aecom were appointed as the lead architecture and interior design consultants, respectively, for the project.

Jebel Dhanna is located along the coastal area of the Al Gharbia region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, close to the ferry departure point for Sir Bani Yas Island, 240 kilometers from Abu Dhabi city, 360 kilometers from Doha and 125 kilometers from the border of Saudi Arabia.

Anantara Jebel Dhanna Villas will have a total of 60 keys across three villa types. There will be 20 one-bedroom villas, 38 two-bedroom villas and two three-bedroom villas. The new Anantara will also have two restaurants and a pool bar, gym, swimming pool and an Anantara Spa.

Meanwhile, the neighboring Avani Jebel Dhanna Hotel will have 230 keys including 170 deluxe guestrooms and 60 superior guestrooms that will have a kitchenette. Facilities at the Avani will include dining options, gym and a swimming pool, while shared facilities will include meeting and banqueting space, a kid’s club and outdoor recreation areas.

There are currently six Anantara properties in operation in the UAE – five in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Anantara The Palm Dubai. Meanwhile, a new Anantara resort is under development in Ras Al Khaimah and a second Anantara resort is set to open in Dubai in 2018.
