Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal with financial company Grupo De Valle to open a La Quinta property in Pedernales, Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic. The company expects to begin construction on the Ocean Front La Quinta Pedernales - Cabo Rojo this coming autumn and to open it in summer 2025.
The property emphasizes sustainability that blends into the surroundings, connecting guests with the beaches and environment. The resort is expected to have 110 guestrooms, a lobby bar with co-working spaces, a pool lounge and a seaside restaurant and grill. The family-focused property will have children's play areas, family rooms for four, single and double bedrooms and six suites.
The Cabo Rojo area is poised to open 12,000 resort guestrooms over the next 10 years as part of the government’s plan to develop the region.
Fairmont, S.R.L, Grupo De Valle and law firm Estrella & Tupete are currently constructing a La Quinta in Puerto Plata, scheduled to open in fall 2024. In early March, Grupo De Valle and Estrella & Tupete announced plans to develop La Quinta San Francisco de Macoris region.
