Recipes of the Week: Five more holiday cocktails (and a mocktail)

Holiday cocktails help make the season bright, so here are five more winter-themed drinks, including a zero-proof espresso martini.

OddFellows x Bluestone Lane Espresso Martini Affogato

From the Tempo by Hilton Times Square, N.Y.

Highball, the new hotel’s restaurant and cocktail lounge, has a “spirit and free-spirited” drink menu, with mocktails resembling their cocktail counterparts. 


OddFellows Vanilla Ice Cream
1 ½ oz. Bluestone Lane Espresso
34 oz. Demerara Syrup
1 1/2 oz. Haku Vodka
½ oz. Kahlua Liqueur
1/2 oz. Frangelico Liqueur

Garnish: gold dust, espresso beans


OddFellows Vanilla Ice Cream
2 oz. Bluestone Lane Espresso
½ oz. Demerara Syrup
2 oz. Lyre's Highland Malt
34 oz. 1883 Hazelnut Syrup
Garnish: gold dust, espresso beans

Add one scoop of ice cream to glass. Combine all other ingredients into mixing tin with ice. Shake well, then strain into glass and garnish.

Spiced Cranberry Sangria 

From Yavapai Lodge, Grand Canyon Village, Ariz.

.5 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
.5 oz Bacardi Superior Rum
1 oz Orange Juice
2 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 dash Cinnamon
2 oz Mionetto Avantgarde Prosecco
3 Cranberries
1 Star Anise

Combine all ingredients (excluding Prosecco) in a shaker tin with ice. Shake well and pour into a wine glass. Top with Prosecco. Garnish and serve.

Crème Brulé Martini 

From Bungalows Key Largo, Fla.

1.25 oz vanilla vodka
1.25 oz white chocolate liquor
1 oz Baileys

Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake until ice cold. Pour into a martini glass. Garnish with caramel dome.

“It’s Christmas, And We’re All In Misery” 

From Casa Monica Resort & Spa, St. Augustine, Fla.

1.75 oz bourbon 
0.5 oz amaretto liqueur
0.75 oz cinnamon syrup
0.5 oz heavy cream
1 oz egg whites
Grated nutmeg (for garnish)

Put all the ingredients together in a mixing tin, add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Then strain into a coupe glass, not over ice, and garnish with the grated nutmeg.

Jolly Twist Martini 

From Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay 

1.5 oz Absolut Vanilla Vodka
.75 oz Dorda Chocolate Liqueur
.25 Peppermint Schnapps
Splash Heavy Cream
Crushed Candy Cane

Pour contents into a shaker. Shake vigorously for 40 seconds. Garnish the martini glass with a candy cane rim. Double strain into a martini glass.
