LG expands commercial-laundry portfolio with Professional Laundry

LG Electronics has expanded its commercial laundry portfolio with equipment designed for hospitality, healthcare, retail and industrial laundry operations.

The LG Professional Laundry lineup is debuting in Europe this month, with launches planned for Asia and North America. The launch expands LG's commercial laundry business, which includes deployments with commercial laundry providers in North America and localized business operations in Asia, including its Laundry Crew franchise model in Thailand.

The lineup includes large-capacity washer, dryer and washer-dryer models designed for high-volume commercial operations. According to Seoul, South Korea-based LG, the washer-dryer can complete a full wash-and-dry cycle in roughly one hour based on a seven-kilogram load under IEC testing standards. Features include AI Weight Detection to adjust water and energy usage based on load size, a heat pump drying system and a ductless design intended to simplify installation.

LG said the new equipment incorporates technologies designed to improve performance and reduce operating costs. The company's Dynamic Ball-Core System uses a gyro sensor and ball balancer to detect drum imbalances and minimize vibration during high-speed spin cycles of up to 1,100 RPM. Higher spin speeds are designed to improve water extraction, which can reduce drying time and energy consumption.

The dryers, including the washer-dryer model, feature Sensor Dry technology that adjusts drying time based on moisture detection. The lineup also includes a Wet Cleaning with MotionCare cycle designed to provide lower-temperature washing and drying for delicate fabrics.

For maintenance, the machines feature a front-service design that provides access to key components. Additional features include Heat Exchanger Cleaning Assist, which rinses the heat exchanger after each cycle, and a Tub Clean cycle that LG said has been verified by Intertek to reduce bacteria inside the washer drum under specified testing conditions.

The lineup also includes the LaundryCrew mobile application, which enables operators to remotely monitor equipment status, manage settings and perform software updates. LG's Open API allows businesses to integrate the equipment with existing management systems through separate system development after installation.

“The LG Professional Laundry lineup is designed to enhance the efficiency and cost effectiveness of commercial laundry operations,” Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company, said in a statement. “By combining our AI-powered washing and drying technologies with our advanced core tech and comprehensive support services, we are providing our B2B partners with solutions that support business growth.”
