Six hotel companies named new executives recently.

Capella Hotel Group

Capella Hotel Group appointed Cristiano Rinaldi chief operating officer. Rinaldi spent the past four years as GM of The Bangkok Edition as well as The Tokyo Edition Ginza and Toranomon. He has also held the position of vice president, operations for One & Only Resorts in Dubai, where he oversaw the performance of the nine resorts. Rinaldi began his career with Hilton and was employed in several food-and-beverage management roles across London and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He also spent time at the Ritz-Carlton Doha in Qatar, with Bulgari Hotels & Resorts in various senior leadership assignments, the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong as hotel manager and area director of operations for Ritz-Carlton, Bulgari and Edition hotels.

Marcus Hotels & Resorts

Marcus Hotels & Resorts announced the appointment of Andrew Flack as its first ever chief commercial officer. He has more than 30 years of hospitality industry experience. His previous roles with Hilton included vice president of product marketing and customer insights and vice president of global brand marketing. His international posts with Hilton included vice president sales and marketing Asia Pacific and regional director of sales, marketing and revenue management in Sydney.

Frontier Development & Hospitality Group

Frontier Development & Hospitality Group, a hotel-focused acquisition, development and asset management firm, appointed Mark Morris chief investment officer. Before joining Frontier, Morris was managing director at Berkadia Hotels & Hospitality, where he co-founded the Hotel Investment Sales platform. He also served as executive VP and director of acquisitions and development for Modus Hotels and held positions at Hunter Hotel Advisors, MK Hotels, SunTrust Bank and Riggs Bank.  

Hotel Equities

Hotel ownership, management and development company Hotel Equities announced Ryan McRae has joined the company as senior VP of business development. McRae most recently served as area VP of lodging development with Marriott International. Based in Vancouver, in his new role McRae will focus on continuing to grow Hotel Equities’ Canadian portfolio of full-service, select-service and extended-stay hotels. Before joining Marriott in 2014, McRae was VP, acquisitions and development for SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts. Before SilverBirch, McRae was a development director with Hilton Worldwide.

Meyer Jabara Hotels

Meyer Jabara Hotels named Richard Sprecher VP of development. The 40-year hospitality veteran will focus on growing the company’s third-party hotel management contracts, as well as structuring joint venture agreements, obtaining hotel receivership assignments and identifying hotels the company should acquire. Sprecher will also spearhead a new distressed asset division, Hospitality Strategic Services, which is designed to assist banks and special servicers in dealing effectively with hotel assets in their portfolios. He comes to Meyer Jabara from Aimbridge Hospitality, where he served as VP of business development for 11 years. Before that, he served as director of franchise sales for Choice Hotels International and held senior positions with Amerihost Properties, Bradbury Suites and Renaissance Hotels & Resorts. 

Focus Hospitality Management

Focus Hospitality Management, a hotel management company with seven properties in the Tucson, Ariz., metropolitan statistical area, appointed hospitality veteran Chris Stanley as VP of business development and asset management. Before joining Focus Hospitality, Stanley spent nearly three years as VP of development at Radisson Hotel Group. Before his tenure at Radisson, he served as regional VP of development at RLH Corporation. He spent nearly two decades at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, where he served in several leadership positions for the hospitality company’s development team. He also held various corporate and hotel operations positions at Westin Hotels & Resorts for nearly a decade.
