AHC Hospitality announces promotions, new hire

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based AHC Hospitality has promoted six key members of its staff and made one new hire in the past two months.

Promotions

Caitlin McClelland, the new spa director for AHC Hospitality, has been with the company for more than 10 years, starting as a seasonal massage therapist before joining the team as spa manager in 2012. In McClelland’s new role as spa director, she will help support spa and salon operations at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids and the JW Marriott Grand Rapids.

Ryan Schmied was promoted to director of food & beverage experiences after joining the team in 2018 as the AC Hotel Grand Rapids’ grand opening general manager. In his new role, Schmied will be responsible for conceptual and menu development as well as project planning.

Ethan Hansen is the new hotel manager at the Morton Hotel in Grand Rapids after helping to open the property earlier this year as hotel supervisor. During his time at the Morton, he has done everything from overseeing the housekeeping and laundry operations to acting as resident expert of the hotel's property-management system and lock system.

Lindsay Hovingh, director of rooms at Amway Grand Plaza, a Curio Collection by Hilton hotel, has been a front-desk agent, guest services supervisor, rooms division manager and, most recently, the opening general manager of the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown.

Melissa Stanley, the new general manager at the AC Hotel Grand Rapids, has been with AHC for 13 years and has been at the Grand Rapids property for nearly three of those years. Previous positions include operations manager and assistant general manager.
 
Jeffrey Burns, the new assistant general manager at the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown, has held six positions with AHC over 10 years with the company.

New Hire

Stephanie Cutler is the new general manager at the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown and the newest member of the AHC Hospitality team overall. Cutler’s previous experience includes general manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites and guest services manager of the Hyatt Place South.
