Benchmark names new finance director for Boston's Ames and Copley Square hotels

Benchmark, a global hospitality company, named Brian C. P. Connors area director of finance for the Ames Boston Hotel and the Copley Square Hotel. Both properties, located in Boston, are part of Benchmark’s Gemstone Collection. Kirk Jones, chief financial officer at Benchmark, made the announcement.

“I am very pleased to welcome Brian to both the Copley Square Hotel and Ames Boston Hotel,” Jones said in a statement. “He has had a distinguished career in finance and accounting, both at the corporate and property level, and brings this expertise to both of our properties and to Benchmark.”

Brian Connors previously was centralized controller for Crestline Hotels and Resorts. He gained on-property experience working as controller for the Hilton Stamford (Conn.) Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, the Sheraton Framingham (Mass.) Hotel & Conference Center and the Holiday Inn Brookline (Mass.), among other hotels on the East Coast.

Connors is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston where he earned his degree in accounting, and is a Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive by the International Association of Hospitality Accountants. Connors is conversant in multiple languages in addition to his native English, including Spanish, Italian and French. He resides in Boston.

The historic Ames Boston Hotel, a member of the Curio Collection by Hilton and of the Gemstone Collection by Benchmark, a global hospitality company, inspires both modern style and old world sophistication. Located near Faneuil Hall and Beacon Hill, the 114-room hotel includes a fitness center and suites accented by Romanesque arched windows and original fireplaces.
