HEI Hotels & Resorts Names four principals

HEI Hotels & Resorts announced that four veteran employees have been made principals in the business. HEI owns and/or manages more than 80 hotels.
 
The following executives have been made principals at HEI Hotels & Resorts:

  • Karl Murphy, chief commercial officer 
  • Dan Walworth, chief compliance & strategy officer 
  • Rachel Moniz, chief operating officer 
  • Marcus Harris, CFO

Murphy joined HEI in 2005. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Murphy is responsible for devising sales, revenue and marketing strategies aimed at harnessing the commercial power of the organization to drive results. Prior to HEI, he held corporate roles with brands such as Virgin, Bass PLC and The Body Shop International.

Walworth has been with HEI since 2007 and was promoted from EVP and chief compliance officer to chief strategy & compliance officer in 2021. He oversees HEI's enterprise platforms and is responsible for ensuring the company's programs, technologies, and resources align with its operating strategies. He has spent more than 25 years developing and implementing processes, systems and strategies across multiple industries.

Moniz joined HEI in 2008 and was promoted from EVP, operations to chief operating officer earlier this year. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of HEI and works alongside the wider management team to set and achieve comprehensive goals for performance and growth. Moniz has worked in several executive leadership positions for more than 20 years in independent, luxury and lifestyle hotels prior to joining HEI.

Harris oversees company and property level finances and manages accounting, investor relations, strategic planning and corporate strategy. He has more than 20 years of hospitality experience in both brand owned/operated assets, as well as independently owned/operated assets. Prior to joining the company in 2002, he held various roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International.
