Langham Hospitality Group appoints Nils-Arne Schroeder COO

Langham Hospitality Group names Nils-Arne Schroeder chief operating officer as the company continues to expand its global portfolio and development pipeline. Schroeder will oversee operations for more than 30 hotels and residences worldwide and help guide the opening and integration of more than 20 properties currently under development.

The company’s pipeline includes its first hotel in Thailand, additional openings in China this year and future projects in Italy, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Langham Hospitality Group CEO Bob van den Oord said Schroeder’s international experience and operational leadership will support the company’s growth strategy.

“As we expand to more destinations, Nils’ breadth of experience across regions, cultures and hotel segments will be a major asset,” van den Oord said in statement. “He has a proven ability to respond to market needs without diluting brand identity, and to turn that balance into sustained performance.”

Schroeder joins Langham with more than 30 years of hospitality industry experience spanning Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of operations for Europe and Africa at Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Before that, he held the role of senior vice president of operations for Asia, the Middle East and Africa at Fairmont.

Earlier in his career, Schroeder spent more than two decades with Hilton, where he held hotel, regional and brand leadership positions across multiple markets. His most recent role with the company was vice president of luxury and lifestyle for Asia Pacific, while also serving as global brand head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts.
