Outrigger names new leaders for Oahu hotels

Outrigger Hospitality Group has appointed hospitality executives at four of its Hawaiian hotels.  

Chryssaldo Thomas is the new area general manager for Ohana Waikiki East by Outrigger and Waikiki Malia by Outrigger while also serving as general manager for the Ohana Waikiki East. Thomas joined Outrigger as a resort manager at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Before that, he worked at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa where he was director of rooms; rooms executive at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Fla.; and at the Hyatt Lodge McDonald’s Campus in Oakbrook, Ill. Thomas holds a bachelor of science in hospitality administration/management from Bethune-Cookman University in Florida.
 
Carly Clement is the new general manager at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. She joined Outrigger as a resort manager at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Before Outrigger, Clement’s work experience included director of rooms at a Hyatt in California and also at The Modern Honolulu, as well as various roles at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Clement holds the certified rooms division executive certification from American Hotel & Lodging Association and is the lodging chair for the advisory board of the Hospitality Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs. Clement earned a bachelor of arts in hospitality business management from Washington State University.
 
Edwin Torres is the new general manager at Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger. He joined Outrigger as food and beverage director at Outrigger Guam Beach Resort. His previous work experience includes director of event operations for the Grand Hotel Marriott in Point Clear, Ala.; and food and beverage director at W Retreat & Spa Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, and for Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands.
 

So’o Tana is the new hotel manager at Waikiki Malia by Outrigger and started his Outrigger career as a night auditor at Outrigger Waikiki Village and Coral Seas Hotel, now Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk. Since then, Tana has worked at various properties as a guest services manager, front office manager and assistant hotel manager. Before Outrigger, Tana was an accountant at First American Title Company and in collections at First Hawaiian Bank. He moved to Japan to work on the Royal Wing cruise ship in Yokoyama, then returned to Honolulu to work in hospitality at Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Queen Kapiolani and the W Hotel (now Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head). Tana holds an associate of science in accounting from Leeward Community College on Oahu.
